Cabling & Wifi

Cat5 Cabling / Cat6 Cabling

At Midland Telecom Networks Ltd, we can assist you with all of your cabling requirements.
We can provide your business with CAT5 cabling and CAT6 cabling (often referred to as data cabling, although it is used for a number of purposes including telecoms, video and audio). We also specialise in fibre optics, traditional telephone cabling and wireless networks to compliment your data cabling.

Category 5 (CAT5) cabling is a twisted pair cable for carrying data. It contains four pairs of copper wire and supports fast Ethernet speeds of up to 100 Mbps. CAT5 is the most popular of all twisted pair cables in use today.

Category 5 enhanced cabling (CAT5e) is a newer specification for CAT5 cable. It supports networking at Gigabit Ethernet speeds of up to 1000 Mbps over short distances by utilising all four wire pairs, and it is backward-compatible with the standard CAT5.

Category 6 cabling (CAT6) is a similar design to CAT5e but offers communication speeds of up to twice the speed. CAT6 offers a much higher frequency of signal and the bandwidth supported is much larger, allowing more network traffic than ever.
